We are incredibly proud and excited to announce the release of feature film ‘Coriander And A Penny’s Worth Of Lonesome’. This feature length animation was developed and directed by Julian Grant. Julian is a tenured Associate Professor at Columbia College Chicago. A filmmaker, educator, and a published author of strange short stories plus full-length novels/ non-fiction texts and comics. The film was written by award-winning screenwriter and associate professor, Ronald Falzone. Original music composed, recorded, mixed and mastered by Zachary Walter.
“The score was truly inspired by both the found-footage ascetic and the rich character narrative. To help match the atmospheric colors of the movie, I created a score that utilized both broken and dirty tape recordings, while simultaneously infusing modern recording and treatment techniques in both live acoustic recording setups, as well as midi based paintings.”
ABOUT THE FILM
When vaudeville performer Coriander Simm is plucked from the stage, she has no idea what lies ahead performing as Valentino's last love during his 1926 wake in NYC. Add an over-protective step-sibling with more than brotherly love on his mind and an amorous 'puss-pitcher' from United Artists, plus a rival movie star intent on usurping Coriander's position as the bereaved suitor and you've got a loving tribute to the films of yesteryear and the Tin Pan Alley.
